These 48-hour moorings are, arguably, the best we have come across. There is a refuse point, water point, elsan point, toilets and showers all accessed by a waterways key so with no public access these facilities were clean and pleasant to use. A popular cafe was at the centre of the three-lock staircase section (there are six altogether). At the bottom of the staircase the A41 road with a direct bus service to Ellesmere and Llangollen in one direction and Chester in the other. There is also a garage close to the canal where basic supplies as well as coal, logs and Calor gas can be purchased
The towpath is tarmac, so no mud, even on the wettest day and the mooring on rings and Armco.
