Mooring in central London can be a nightmare C&RT (Canal and River Trust) are making more moorings pre-bookable, some at no cost some with a charge of around £12.00 per night.
The Islington Eco Visitor Moorings mooring must be pre-booked with the C&RT although that does not guarantee that someone doesn’t grab it when seen to be vacant. C&RT insist they will move non-booked boaters on but is that fact or fiction?
The towpath alongside the moorings is very busy with joggers, dog walkers, cyclists, and general gongoozelers, however, it is still peaceful and at night feels very safe and secure.
There are lots of shops, pubs and restaurants nearby as well as the very vibrant Chapel Market.
