One mile above Ponders End Lock.

This was my first experience of mooring on the Lee Navigation, the towpath was good with a wide grass edge for pinning into so why were there so few other boats moored?

When we tried to come alongside we found out. The sides of the navigation are VERY shallow. We spent the night aground yet still a couple of feet from the bank and getting off the putty and underway next morning was, shall we say, interesting.

It is not a place we would moor again despite having a quiet and peaceful night.

The mooring was on pins.
