Bored bored bored bored bored!!

We have been back at the marina six weeks (plus) now although it seems a lot lot longer. Were we were younger we would probably complain that this waiting was having a serious deleterious effect on our metal health but as we are just silly old  f😱😱ts we simply say we are just getting fed up with it but know it will eventually end and we will then get over it.

There have been some brighter moments, we both had our second jab during week 2, which entailed driving back to Essex staying in the caravan for a few days while we both had the jab and social distantly visited several relatives.

At the end of week three we hired a small van and went to Lancashire to drop off some redundant kit and pick up some bits we needed from our lock-up.

Week four AJ Covers installed our cratch and stern covers. When we ordered them way back  in October 2020 they seemed eye wateringly expensive but company owner Kathy and her husband Fraser spent best part of twenty hours on board, measuring, making patterns and fitting without counting the hours in the workshop actually making the items. The final fitting was completed around 6.00pm on Friday night as they had promised to complete before going on holiday Saturday. It is a job that takes great skill from the initial measuring to the final fitting which Kathy and Fraser obviously have in spades. Interestingly I expected an invoice to be presented at the end of the fitting and as fitting came towards the end I asked Kathy if she would give me the bill and said I would pay it before they left “Oh! I haven’t prepared it yet. I’ll try to do it before we leave tomorrow, if not I’ll do it when we get back” Wow!!! Thats trust. In a week we could be miles away.

Turned out to be Friday afternoon Kathy and Frazer returned and completed the job. Looks good.

Although in the main the weather in this time has been pretty awful there have been some sunning sunsets a couple of photos of which are shown in the photo album for this entry.
