What a plonker!!

Thursday 16th July 2020

We are still far from moving aboard RoJo permanently but we are spending from Thursday till Tuesday or Wednesday aboard and incorporating a trip to our lock-up in Lancashire on Monday.

Leaving Little Henham on Thursday it was hard to get our heads around the fact that the boat is already pretty well full to the gunnels, the caravan doesn’t look any emptier, the car is absolutely stuffed and we have yet to pick up “essentials” from the lock-up. We are supposed to be lightweight caravan dwellers. There seems nothing lightweight about all the kit we are cramming on what is essentially a quite small boat.

On arrival the kit was crammed on and most of it put away, we found a home for the remainder on Friday/Saturday although some homes will, I have no doubt, be found wanting and will over time change. A boat owner has to be tidy - a place for everything and everything in its place - sadly no-one has ever accused us of being tidy so I hope we learn and quickly.

Try as I might I couldn’t get the arial to process a signal to the TV, nothing, nada! Oh well it’s been a tiring day so we went to bed early but, for me at least, I could not settle and spent a very restless night - excitement???

In the wee small hours I thought about not getting any signal at all on the TV and wondered had I actually plugged the arial cable into the TV set? No one can be that much of an idiot, can they?  I checked - what a plonker - within a few minutes I had more TV and radio stations programmed in than you could shake a remote at. Please, pretty please, don’t tell anyone about this or I will never live it down.
