The mooring we used was on the eastern side of the Ellesmere Arm right on the junction. It was within a five minute walk of Tesco and a ten minute walk of the town itself. It is possible to get closer to Tesco, by navigating the arm, in fact there are moorings right outside Tesco but they are, obviously, very popular and winding at the end of the arm can be, erm, shall we say “testing”
The towpath is tarmac and despite being so close to the shops etc was quiet and peaceful.
The mooring in on rings/Armco
